We know it can both be amazing and sometimes difficult to be a lesbian, gay, bi, trans (including binary and non-binary), queer, intersex, asexual, or Two-Spirit person (LGBTQIA2S+). Would you like to talk to other students who are members of the rainbow family and perhaps experiencing similar things to you? Would you like to explore your wonderful resilience and perhaps learn new coping strategies to deal with heterosexism and cissexism? Then please consider joining us at UniQ SupporT!
UniQ SupporT is a new group offered at UWO’s Student Development Centre (SDC), starting Monday January 29th 2018. This group will be an intersectional LGBTQIA2S+ affirmative psychoeducation and support group for current UWO students. It will be a closed group (not drop-in) for students who are members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community . UniQ SupporT will be held in an accessible room in a low traffic area, with an accessible gender-neutral bathroom very close by. It will be facilitated by Chérie Moody (she/her/hers) and Jennifer Perkins (she/her/hers), two settler, queer, cis women.
UniQ SupporT will run on Mondays from 2-3:45pm for 7 weeks (no group on Family Day, Feb. 19th).
If you are interested in registering, please register using the online form found at http://www.sdc.uwo.ca/psych/ (select Psychological Services Groups). SDC will call you with group location details once you register. If you have questions, please call SDC's intake office at 519-661-3031.
