From Toronto Pearson Airport

The Government of Canada has provided specific recommendations for travel to your quarantine destination, once you arrive at the airport/your port of entry.

Western students must book travel from Toronto Pearson Airport to London with Robert Q Airbus to bring you safely to London and directly to your residence or other quarantine destination. The cost will be 50% of the regular fare.

Note: students arriving from outside of Canada are not permitted to take any form of public transportation (bus, train etc.) to travel from Toronto Pearson Airport to their quarantine destination.

IMPORTANT: please refer to the code 'MUSTANG' or identify yourself as a Western student when booking your reservation. The 50% discount is not available through online booking.

Robert Q has put many procedures in place to ensure passengers remain safe, including reduced passenger loads, mandatory masks and other policies.

Important Information:

  • ** Students staying Western-arranged quarantine accommodations should wait to receive their quarantine location address from a logistics coordinator before they book their Robert Q transportation so they can properly select the correct drop off location
  • The discount and offer code ' MUSTANG' may be used for any Western student arriving at Toronto Pearson Airport, regardless if they are staying on campus, in Western-arranged off-campus quarantine accommodations, or their personal off-campus housing.
  • Please add 4 to 5 hours after your flight arrival time when selecting your pick-up time. This is to allow for landing, deboarding, clearing customs and Study Permit processing time (if applicable).
  • You will need the following required information before completing your booking: airline, fight number, email and phone number.

SIM Card Providers at Toronto Pearson International Airport

Toronto Pearson International Airport has two phone plan providers near International Arrivals Terminal 1 should you wish to purchase a phone or SIM card as soon as you arrive in Canada. Below you will find an overview on what each provider has to offer, the location of the shops, and links to the full list of services for each. 

CHATR Wireless

Hours of operation & terminal location

10:00 am - 10:00 pm daily (any changes can be viewed here). Located at International Arrivals Terminal 1, before security. The exact location can be found on the offical Toronto Pearson map.

Cost of SIM card & plan

SIM card - $10 + tax CAD, no activation fee

Plans range from $15 - $70 CAD per month. For more information on what is offered with each plan, please visit CHATR's Plans page. No phones are available purchase at this location.

Process to set up SIM card & plan

Account holder information is required to start a plan, including name, date of birth, and address. To set up automatic payments a Credit or Debit card is required and will come with bonus add-ons to the plan, such as bonus data. Plan types

Plans are pay-per-use, not contract-based, and bills may be paid via their app or the website. To use the phone service, customers pay a monthly fee and pausing payment for the following month will pause cellular service for that month.

Cost of SIM card & plan

SIM card activation - $45 CAD that will appear on first invoice

Process to set up SIM card & plan

Students must be at least 18 years of age and provide two pieces of valid ID, which include: credit card, Canadian or other driver's license, SIN number, Canadian or other passport, permanent resident card, birth certificate, study permit, or work permit. Fido accepts all major credit cards, and students can also pay via their Canadian bank account. Some prepaid credit cards are accepted and students may pay via cheque or money order. Plan types

Plans can be set up for as long as needed. If the account is set up with a monthly plan, students must contact Fido when they wish to close the account.

From London International Airport

Students may take a taxi directly from London International Airport to your quarantine destination, as long as face coverings/masks are worn and all other COVID-19 precautions are followed. No planned or unplanned stops are permitted.

Some taxi companies may ask pre-screening questions, limit the number passengers or require advanced booking.
We recommend you call the taxi company and ask about COVID-19 precautions.

London Taxi Companies:

Taxis charge either per kilometer, or per zone and all charge a small fee as soon as you sit down ($3-$4)

Note: It is customary to tip the driver 10-15%.
