International Arrival 2020
Welcome. This website is for new or returning students arriving from outside of Canada to begin studies at Western University.
Effective immediately, all Western University, Brescia, Huron and King's University College students arriving from outside of Canada (including international students and Canadian citizens) are required to complete a 14-day quarantine and must register their quarantine plan with Western prior to, or immediately upon, arrival in Canada.
Volunteers will connect with you through the contact information provided in your registration.
Note: any student who was in quarantine on August 15, 2020 or arrived on or after August 15, 2020 is required by the Ontario government to be tested for COVID-19 at the end of their quarantine period.
Testing is available on campus. Please see Western's testing website for up-to-date details on hours and location. If you have completed your 14-day quarantine and are symptom free, you may come to campus for the test, return home and wait for results before attending class/labs/tutorials in person. Those outside of London can get tested at a local assessement centre and arrange to send test results to Student Health Care. See our health care page for more details
If you have questions about quarantine, please visit our Dos and Don'ts of Quarantine page.
Below are some links to register for quarantine accommodations, information on airport transportation and other support needs.
If you are in need of financial assistance to help with costs associated with quarantine, you may apply for the International Student Bursary, open to undergraduate and graduate students for Fall 2020.
Note: Currently, only students with valid study permits on or before March 18, 2020 are exempt from travel restrictions and allowed to enter Canada. Students must also prove that travel to Canada is essential.
If you are an international student who is exempt from current travel restrictions AND you have in-person degree requirements OR you have internet/bandwidth/time zone challenges, you can request a letter of support from Western.
