Juliana & Zohreh

“I met Zohreh during orientation day in the fall of 2018, I met her through another friend at the Alumni Hall. I guess we were both excited but confused about starting grad school at Western. She was coming all the way from Iran and I was coming from Brazil.

Our friendship “clicked” since day one. I remember us walking back from Alumni Hall to our BGS chatting and sharing a lot of similar thoughts. I remember how I thought that’s the Persian culture would be  different from mine, but after meeting her, I could comprehend how similar we were.

Zohreh became my family, the person I cherish the most here. She is always ready to help and be an AMAZING friend. My experience here would not be the same without her. Zohreh, Thanks for always being there for me, in all the good and bad times, in every class, every project, every conference, and every beamtime. Life would be extremely boring without you. Mercy!”
