International students should hold travel plans to Canada for now
On Friday, October 2, the Government of Canada announced an amendment to the current travel exemptions to allow more international students to travel to Canada, subject to strict quarantine measures and the provincial approval of a COVID-19 readiness plan from universities.
However, international students should continue to follow current travel exemptions and advice until further notice. If you are studying remotely from outside Canada and are not currently exempt from travel restrictions, we recommend you do not make any arrangements to travel at this time.
Western has submitted its proposed plan to the Province of Ontario and will notify students once approval is received. Please watch your Western email for further information as it becomes available.
