Spring

Begins in March

In the spring, the days become gradually longer and warmer. Spring is an unpredictable season of changing temperatures with lots of rainfall.

Recommended items: sweaters, pants, light coat or lined jacket, raincoat, waterproof shoes, umbrella.

Summer

Begins in June

Summer brings warm, sunny days with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 35°C and common rainfall. London can get very humid in the summer; check the weather for the humidex (humidity index) to see how hot it may feel each day.

Recommended items: shorts, t-shirts, sleeveless tops, sandals, bathing suit, sunscreen.

Fall/Autumn

Begins in September

September is often warm and sunny like the summer, but the season becomes gradually cooler and more rainy as it approaches winter.

Recommended items: sweaters, pants, light coat or lined jacket, raincoat, waterproof footwear, umbrella.

Although winter officially begins in December, snow can arrive as early as October and can last until April.
